Art

These three works of mine, which are a mix of painting and rapid sketching, are the ones I love the most. They represent and carry with them a reflection of my childhood. The first one features tram lines as the central subject. I think tram lines are objects that represent the past of Kolkata; they also embody the mellow vibe the city carries within. The second is of the village I am from called Naruar in Bihar. The Madhubani paintings coming from my village are such great works of art, and this tiny village in Bihar is where I was introduced to art and my art teacher. The third is of a cricket match taking place in the middle of a gully in Mumbai. Cricket is a religion in India, and even though it might have been brought to us by colonial powers, we as a country have fully adopted it and made it our sport.
